Refund & Cancellation Policy

Effective date: September 17, 2026

1. Purpose

This policy explains how you can cancel Simple Assess access and when refunds are issued. Simple Assess Co., Ltd. sells digital educational services: curated, personalized Chinese lessons and related assessments, as subscriptions and as one-time packs. This page is the policy our payment processor and customers should rely on for billing disputes.

2. What you are buying

Payment is for access to digital content and personalization features, not a physical good and not a live classroom seat unless a specific offer says otherwise at checkout. Access begins when payment succeeds and the account is entitled to the plan you bought.

3. How to cancel

You may cancel a subscription at any time from your account billing settings, or by emailing support@simpleassess.com and asking to cancel. Cancellation stops future renewals. You keep access until the end of the period already paid, unless a refund is granted that ends access immediately.

Cancel before the renewal date to avoid the next charge. We do not require a phone call or a long notice period.

4. Refund window

You may request a full refund of your most recent qualifying charge within 14 days of the payment date if all of the following are true:

  • you ask us in writing (account or email) within those 14 days;
  • you have not made substantial use of the paid content — for example you have not completed a material portion of paid lessons or consumed a material portion of paid media; and
  • the charge is not an already-refunded or already-replaced invoice.

If we approve the refund, we refund the original payment method through the payment processor. Processing time depends on the processor and your bank or card issuer, often several business days after we submit it.

5. When a refund is not available

Unless required by law, we do not refund:

  • requests made more than 14 days after the charge;
  • periods in which you already used a substantial part of the paid lessons, assessments, or personalization;
  • renewal charges you could have prevented by cancelling before the renewal date, after you had a reasonable chance to cancel;
  • promotional, gift, or zero-price entitlements;
  • charges we reasonably believe are fraudulent, abusive, or already reversed.

We may still issue a goodwill refund at our discretion (for example a billing error, duplicate charge, or service outage that blocked access).

6. One-time purchases

One-time lesson packs or lifetime-style access follow the same 14-day unused-content rule. After substantial use, the purchase is final except where law requires otherwise or we agree to a goodwill refund.

7. Trials and price changes

If a plan includes a trial, you will not be charged until the trial ends unless checkout says otherwise. Cancel during the trial to avoid the first paid charge. If the paid price changes, the new price applies from the next renewal after we disclose it; you may cancel before that renewal.

8. Chargebacks

Please contact us first so we can cancel or refund when this policy allows. Unjustified chargebacks may lead to account suspension. We will provide the processor with records of purchase, access, and this policy when we respond to a dispute.

9. Consumer law

If mandatory consumer law in your country gives you a longer cooling-off period or a right we cannot waive, that law controls. For digital content, some laws allow the cooling-off right to end once performance begins with your agreement. Using paid lessons after purchase is treated as performance having begun.

10. How to request a refund

Email support@simpleassess.com with:

  • the email on the account;
  • the approximate payment date and amount;
  • the reason for the request.

We aim to respond within 3 business days.
